This piece on What Men Really Want You to Wear caught my eye, so I thought it would be an interesting read. What Men Really Want You to Wear
Okay, so what do men really want you to wear? You might be reading this and thinking to yourself, ‘who cares what ‘he’ wants – I’ll wear what ‘I’ want’… Well, that’s all fine and good. But, if you want to please and impress your man, you might just want to take a peek below… You never know, you might just enjoy some of it anyway!
Well let’s start off by saying that most women will have made (and do make) far more effort in the beginning stages of a relationship. You take more care of your hair, your makeup and your appearance in general. Usually you’ll wear heels more and just generally smarter clothes. Then, with the passage of time and in steps that old word ‘familiarity’ and all of a sudden you’ve dropped your standards somewhat.
Before I go any further, let’s outline how he does ‘not’ like to see his woman in (for the vast majority of men, this is fact) and what he will find deeply unattractive, even though he won’t have the balls to tell you…
Sloppy tracksuits, baggy and over sized tee shirts, in fact anything that’s baggy and is way too big for you, trainers on your feet all the time, no makeup at all (ever), hair scraped back because it hasn’t been washed, over sized pajamas in thick coarse material…
You get the picture. As I’ve said above, he probably won’t mention just how bad, plain, boring, unattractive you look but trust me, he sure as hell will notice. Just like he’ll notice some hottie when he’s not with you (someone who is making the effort you used to make once, like when you first met)…
Don’t give him an excuse to go looking elsewhere. Nobody is saying it should all be about looks and of course we should be able to relax and let our guard down a bit once we get used to the relationship, but really, would ‘you’ appreciate him if he let himself go from smart and tidy to a bit of a slob? Really, ask yourself, how would you feel toward him? Wouldn’t your opinion of him be just a tad lower!
Moving on now, what do men really want you to wear?
Well, think the opposite of everything listed above. Think of when you first got together and how you really put in time and effort to look good. He appreciated it and ‘you’ felt great. It’s a good and positive thing to care about how you look. It makes ‘you’ feel good, it feeds your self esteem, it boosts your confidence and that radiates outward in everything you do. And he in turn, ‘sees’ something worth having, ie you. You make him feel proud to be with you.
Okay, back to the list. If you need a reminder: first off, do your makeup and hair and spray on your favorite perfume. Don’t forget grooming (goes without saying ie shaving, waxing, I don’t care how you do it, but please girls, take care of it!)
Men ‘love’ heels. They love well fitting clothes. Think pencil skirts, soft silky or satin blouses, stockings (they adore) especially with seams running up the back of the leg. Hats are very sexy. Gloves are too. Accessories are a wonderful way to dress up any outfit.
A fitted dress in a great color that suits you will go down very well, pair it with heels. Forget the label (designer and size that is) and go for what ‘fits’ you and ‘looks’ good. Doesn’t matter what size you are. Go for what looks good on you.
Men love the ‘feminine’ look. Makes them feel masculine and protective of you. Avoid anything grungy like the plague. Most guys will run a mile from anything like that.
As for the bedroom, think soft satin baby dolls, teddies, soft silky pajamas; pair up with ballet type slippers or cute mules with fur. At least once in a while, ditch the big fat fuzzy harsh fabric of grey cotton sleepwear.
Jeans (if fitted) are a good look. Dark navy jeans are especially smart. Team them up with heels, a fitted shirt and blazer, good belt and clutch bag and you’re onto a winner. Smart fitted suit pants are also very sexy with heels.
