Question by McNeef: What is the relationship between law and ethics?
This is an essay question. Describe the relationship between law and ethics, and speculate as to why they are lumped together at yahoo answers. Compare and contrast, if it helps your argument, but I’m more interested in the _relationship_ between them than their similarities and differences, or in simple definitions.

What would make sense to me is that laws are based on ethics.

Question by Globetreker: What’s the difference between a rebound relationship and a transition relationship?
Here’s my definition:
Rebound Relationship: is a relationship that someone newly out of a relationship enters to avoid dealing with the pain and loss of their breakup. The reboundee often ends up feeling hurt, disappointed, and used by the rebounder. These types of relationships generally don’t last.
Transition Relationship: is a relationship that one enters after a breakup that helps the person transition from the old relationship and move on emotionally. During the transition process, the person still grieves the loss of the old relationship, but finds comfort in having a diversion. This type of relationship may be sexual, but it can also be platonic. Transition relationships aren’t meant to last either; however, no one ends up feeling used, as both individuals are getting their needs met. Once the new person has fulfilled their purpose, they tend to move on.

Question by Brody Davis: What is the relationship between body size and metabolic rate?
What is the relationship between body size and metabolic rate (per unit body mass) in endotherms? While not fully understood, what might explain this relationship?
Best answer:
Answer by Jason
If you just need a simple answer, metabollic rate INCREASES with an increasing body mass.
We just did a lab on this using crayfish and the larger crayfish consumed more oxygen than the smaller one.

Question by Danielle P: What is the relationship between the number of sides?
If you have a polygon and draw a segment connecting two points of the polygon, what is the relationship between the number of sides of the original polygon and the number of sides of the two newly formed polygons?
For example, you have a triangle. 3 sides. You draw a segment across the top part of the triangle, and have created one small triangle and a quadrilateral. 7 sides. After completing multiple problems such as these with various polygons, you should be able to notice a relationship between the two numbers. This is a geometry proof but I can’t find the answer. HELP!
Best answer:
Answer by rangergordon
So long as neither endpoint of the segment is a vertex of the polygon, for a polygon with n sides, you will divide it into two new polygons with a total of n + 4 sides between them.
This is because the endpoints of the segment split both sides into two, creating two new sides. Also, the segment serves as an additional side for both of the two new polygons, creating two more additional sides.
So, there will be a total of n + 2 + 2 = n + 4 total sides to the two new polygons.

Question by Matt: What is the relationship between government bonds and interest rates? Bonds and stock market?
I know I should know this since I am an econ major. But this is something that has confused me for a while. I’d like to not only know the relationship but also, why the relationship holds true. Thanks!

Answer by Patricia
When the 10 year bond prices go up, it causes the yield to go down. The interest rates (long term rates – like mortgages) follow the yield. So typically, interest rates move inversely to bond prices. Supply (auctions etc…) and demand of bonds influence prices and thus interest rates.

Question by A_star: How does the relationship between mother and father change after baby is born?
I’m a medical student, and at the moment I am studying the development of family, and how a couples relationship might change for the better or worse when they have a baby together.
For example, the father may feel somewhat excluded as the mother acts as the primary caregiver, and naturally the relationship may become strained due to less time together and more stress.
I’d really appreciate some input from those of you who have been there before and have experienced these changes.
Thank you
I’m particularly interested in the changes that take place almost immediately after the baby comes into the family.

Our relationship has gotten better. Having children has brought my husband and I closer. There is more communication and it’s amazing to share all of the good and even some of bad experiences that come along with raising a family. We work pretty good as a “team”-
